How not to gain after a pig-out

You'll love this one, let me tell ya.

It's something everyone one of us can use. It's tried and true... works every time to help offset any "pig-outs"
you may find yourself engaging in.
You know...

1.  You're super-tired from work and that darn pizza flyer was on the door...

2.  You want to celebrate and you find yourself stuffing face with "happy food"...

3.  You're bummed out and ice cream turns into your BFF...

Listen, I've been there... lots of times.

So today, while I'm waiting for my fiancé Hanna to get out of surgery (she broke her nose... poor thing... but my doc is excellent) I was thumbing through the magazines. Sports mags... political mags...Nah. Something that reminds me of Hanna would be good.

CHICK MAG! : )

I saw this headline on "Cosmopolitan"... the same headline I used in this newsletter. Well, guess what?

Someone as Cosmo has been reading my book.

This book:

Some of the wording was a 'bit' too close to call it luck... or 'great minds think alike.' : )

Here's the scoop: If you pig-out on food, you must do three things in order to make surethat food doesn't head straight for where you store the most bodyfat...

1. Sweat a bit Do some light cardio, take a brisk walk, but MOVE. You have to move within an hour or so otherwise all that salt will be retained in your tissues and make you LOOK fatter than you actually are. I hate that look on me!

2. Protein and Produce

For the rest of the day, consume lean protein foods and

produce (primarily green veggies.) This is right out of my book (in fact it's how you eat most nights except for the nights where you get to eat whatever you want... yummy... )

This not only lowers overall calories, but unlike the Cosmo article I can tell you exactly what else it does:  It lowers your insulin response.

Insulin is secreted in large amounts when you over-eat or eat too many carbs. That's what you usually do during a pig-out. Most people don't pig-out on steak.

Not only that, but protein foods are "thermogenic"... meaning they help increase your body's core temperature and help you burn off more
calories than any other nutrient.
Cool, right?

3. Repeat the Next Day

... The protein and produce, that is. Most of your foods the next day should be lean protein and produce, only this time you can include some low-sugar fruits along with the veggies. Salads are great too. Stick to this system and you can cheat on your dietplan without
wrecking your waistline.

An even BETTER solution is what I call a "Planned Pig-out". This is where you eat your favorite foods on purpose (just at the right time and with a few tricks.)

I cover it all here:
