Pecan Pasteries
Ingredients:
Pastry dough:
1/2 cup sweet butter
5 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
Filling:
1/2 cup sweet butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1/3 cup honey
1 lb. pecans, chopped
3Tbsp. whippingcream
1. Cream butter, sugar and shortening untill smooth and well
combined.
2. Add egg. Stir to blend.
3. Add remaining ingredients and mix untill just blended. do not
over mix.
4. Pat dough into 13x9 in. pan. Prick with fork.
5. Bake at 350* for about 12 minutes.
6. Meanwhile, prepare filing. In a sauce pan, combine butter,
brown sugar, granulates sugar and honey. Bring to a bil. Boil
for 3 minutes without stirring.
7. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans and whipping cream.
8. Spread filling over prebaked pastry.
9. Bake at 350* for about 25 minutes or untill dough is done
and filling is lightly brown on top.
Cut into squares and serve.
